About Us
STAK Construction is an Auckland-based main contractor specialising in education and commercial projects.
We deliver refurbishment, remediation and upgrade works in accordance with architectural drawings and specifications, working closely with project managers, consultants and clients throughout each stage of the project.
Our strength lies in practical site delivery — strong supervision, coordination of trades, and maintaining programme, quality and safety on every job.
STAK is led by Mick King, who brings over 20 years of experience delivering school projects across New Zealand.
Mick King – Managing Director
Mick King brings over 40 years of diverse experience in the construction industry. Educated in the UK and having run his own interior fit-out company, Mick moved to New Zealand in 2005 and quickly made his mark. He has a proven track record of managing large-scale projects, including the first Green Building Council certified refurbishment in New Zealand. Mick's leadership at STAK is characterized by a commitment to sustainable building practices and a vision for future growth.
Tyrone Stretton – Director
Tyrone Stretton, born and raised in Auckland, is a highly skilled carpenter with a solid foundation in educational and residential projects. His career spans significant contributions to school developments and high-quality housing. Known for his exceptional communication and motivational skills, Tyrone ensures that projects are completed to the highest standards. His passion for teamwork and innovative solutions drives STAK's success in every endeavor.
Keagan Schelin – Director
Keagan Schelin, originally from South Africa, has quickly established himself in the New Zealand construction scene.Keagan is progressing toward a degree in Quantity Surveying. His meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving abilities make him a vital part of the STAK team. Keagan's dedication to continuous learning and professional development ensures that Stak remains at the forefront of the industry.
